However, our long-term vision is to evolve into an International Foundation, further formalizing our commitment to ethical practices, sustainability, and integral human development. WHO WE ARE

With a growing multidisciplinary team, from Spain, Italy, New Zealand, Kenya, we will provide AI trainings, innovative solutions and expert guidance in implementing AI projects that address critical challenges in development projects.

EAiD works alongside with AI engineers from Universities across the world, AI computer engineers from the private sector, in both developed and developing nations, creating a platform for mutual learning and local capacity building.

Our Team

EAiD is led by Maria Amparo Alonso Escobar, Spanish, with extensive experience in international relations, strategic management, and sustainable development. With a focus on ethical technology deployment, Amparo brings a unique perspective to EAiD's mission, drawing on her expertise in international cooperation and international relations, across more than 100 countries, in African, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and Asian countries. Maria Amparo Alonso has also coordinated initiatives with global impact, applying UN mechanisms in Geneva, Rome, and New York. Her career spans representation at high diplomatic levels, and grassroots work, with the management of international cooperation projects, with catholic partners, specially, in Africa. With a solid academic foundation in economics and business administration, she is committed to ensuring that AI and emerging technologies are ethically integrated into development efforts, particularly in vulnerable regions.

Julianne Hickey, from New Zealand, is a seasoned leader, manager and consultant with extensive experience in transformational change, focusing on people and communities in healthcare, education, and justice. Recently she has led the change management for GenAI implementation for a national Big4 consultancy, and she has facilitated the AI strategy and policy development for government, commercial and for-purpose organizations. Growing up in Zimbabwe and honing her facilitation skills across a range of countries and cultures, Julianne brings a unique perspective to the integration of indigenous wisdom and ethical AI for sustainable development.

Luca Baraldi

Luca Baraldi, an expert in policy analysis and strategic intelligence with twenty years of experience in geopolitical analysis for foundations, research centers, companies, and public institutions across Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. Since 2019 he has been working in the field of artificial intelligence, with a specific focus on analysing the strategic implications of information automation and cognitive enhancement technologies, in business, organisational and institutional contexts. He is a contributor to Atlantis Magazine and a member of the steering committee for the Focus Group on AI (European Institute of Innovation & Technology and European Digital SME Alliance). Since 2016, he has focused on platform economy, opinion making and public diplomacy in the digitalized society. He serves as a strategic advisor for many companies and foundations on tech policies and cultural impact, collaborating with international universities and think tanks.
